Objective: The goal was to create a poster that represented the German typeface DIN 1451.
Concept: DIN 1451 originated in Germany circa 1905. Originally designed for the railway system, I focused on strong, geometric lines and uniform spacing to create movement and honor its original use. Legibility and a use of negative space was also a key focus to maintain a simplicity in design. The colors used were a nod to the German flag and were of popular use in German design during the early 20th century.
